Getting your app published on Apple with CarPlay support means that you’ll need to get Apple to approve your Developer account for CarPlay entitlement.
This process has to be completed by the Developer Account holder (rather than us, the Radio Base admins). We’ll give you everything you need to complete this request and when Apple approves it, we will be able to include CarPlay support for your app.
Step 1: Login to your Apple Developer account
Step 2: Visit this link: https://developer.apple.com/contact/carplay/
Step 3: Select App type “Audio”.
Paste the following text in the “Tell us about your app” field:
We are a radio station with listeners who commute and travel, and we put a lot of focus on our mobile apps. Our developers, Radio Base, are entitled to CarPlay, but we need our own entitlement for them to be able to add it to our app. Can you please approve?
Paste the following text in the "What specific CarPlay features do you plan to implement" field:
CarPlay Audio App to play live streams and podcasts
You will also need to acquire the App store URL:
Log in to App Store Connect
Go to My Apps and click on your app.
Click on General > App Information.
Click on Additional Information > View on App Store.
Copy the URL of the page and paste in the App Store URL field.
NOTE: this link will only be available if your app is already live in the App Store.
Step 4: Accept the Terms and Conditions
Step 5: Apple will review and approve the request for CarPlay entitlement.
